The Convenience of Natural Gas Grill

Friday, May 6th, 2011

Have you experienced running out of gas in the middle of a barbecue party? If you have, this is one of the most embarrassing experiences you can have when throwing a party for your friends and family. Nothing is more embarrassing to guests than keep them waiting in hunger for your steaks to be grilled. This is the reason that propane gas grill is not convenient to have than a natural gas grill.

If you still use that propane gas grill, it is better to ditch it! Using a natural gas grill is extremely important when you are fond of throwing a party at home. With a natural gas grill, you don’t have to scurry around swapping out an old thank with a new one while the party is underway. In addition, natural gas is way cheaper than propane gas. If you want to save a big deal of money on your grill, getting a natural gas grill can help.

Another advantage of a grill that uses natural gas is the fact that it is friendlier to the environment than propane gas grill. Propane gas contains elements that are hazardous to the environment. If you want to contribute to the conservation of the environment, better start it with having the right grill to use at home.

If you want to convert a propane grill to natural gas, when you need to do is to have an inexpensive conversion kit which you can get from a manufacturer or a retailer. What you need to do is to change the regulator. Make sure to hire a professional to do running of gas line from your kitchen to the backyard. If you do not know a professional to do it, ask for a referral from a gas company.

A Large Size Charcoal Grill from Weber – One Touch Gold Charcoal Grill

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

As far as charcoal grills are concerned, I think the Weber one touch Gold get a grill is truly the King of the Hill with a bunch of features that manage to make it more usable without actually taking away the joy of raw charcoal-based cooking. If you have been cooking for a long time, especially on grills and the like then you will know that no meat tastes as good as something that is cooked on an open charcoal grill which is exactly what the Weber Gold cattle grill offers. However, instead of working only on the efficiency of the grill itself Weber has also done a lot of work towards making sure that feeling this grill is as easy as operating it in the first place. You can read more about this grill on the following web page http://www.squidoo.com/buy-weber-758001-22-5-inch-one-touch-gold-charcoal-grill which has everything from reviews to comparisons with other grills.

Cooking Food Under Pressure with a 921 Pressure Cooker

Monday, March 21st, 2011

Cooking under pressure with All-American pressure cookers preserves your food’s natural flavor. Aside from this, there are many reasons why people choose to cook under pressure rather boil foods. Boiling tend to wash out flavor, vitamins and minerals. Cooking under pressure is healthier and virtually fat-free.

Most vegetarians cook their food under pressure. My grandfather who is a an Adventist got a 921 pressure cooker for himself. According to him, his vegetarian diet can prevent him up to97% heart attack and 90% stroke. That’s why whenever he visits our place, we had to prepare a different type of food for him.

Cooking under pressure is environment friendly and economical. Most modern pressure cookers are energy saver and minimize emissions of CFCs. Also, using pressure cooker saves you a lot of time. It usually takes longer time to soften the beef using traditional cooking pot. Pressure cookers can do the same thing in much lesser time and about 3x faster.

ROAR Winery Another Pisoni Project

Sunday, February 27th, 2011

Another project from Gary Pisoni and his wife Rosella whom come into the wine industry with extensive farming backgrounds in the nearby central valley. Roar wines are part of the families personal label, with grapes sourced from the famous vineyards of Gary’s, Pisoni and yes Rosella’s. Production is incredibly limited with Roar wines, only two Pinot Noir’s and two Syrah’s are produced on a yearly basis, these wines are bound to sell out quickly. My wine of the month club is always excited to be able to purchase only a few cases of any of the wines as quality is always incredibly high. While almost every bottling of Pinot Noir has been recommended by even the most stringent of wine critics, Syrah is just coming into its own now. Some years offer a truly mind altering wine capable of changing the very way that you think about Pinot Noir with its capacity to be both delicate as well as full bodied.

Meals should meet the nutritional needs of the family. The main goal in the preparation of recipes is to provide each member of the family good nutrition. To make sure that all family members have met the nutritional needs of their body, the person preparing the food must include different foods from different food groups.

Meals should fit the food budget. Money spent for food can buy much or little, depending on the homemaker’s knowledge of wise spending and proper selection of food. One should select cheap yet healthy meal.

Meals must be satisfying. Nutritious meals will provide enough nutrients only if they are taken in the body. Therefore, meals should be prepared not only good for the body and mind but also for the sight. Meaning it should be presentable.

I Love Sushi Santa Cruz is Not What It’s Cracked Up to Be

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

I Love Sushi is one of the busiest Santa Cruz sushi restaurants. Here are my reviews of this Santa Cruz sushi restaurant:

I went to I Love Sushi Restaurants Santa Cruz on a Monday night for the first time with a friend based on the reviews over at Yelp. I was craving some home-style Japanese cooking. Didn’t really know what to order and thought that I can’t go wrong with ordering the dish the place is named after,I Love Sushi…but I was wrong.

The dish consisted of a fried croquette, pork cutlet, piece of mackerel, and a piece of fried imitation crab meat. The whole thing was unimpressive. The rice is a bit on the mushy side. The salad is nothing to get excited over. The best part of the whole combination is the miso soup, which I actually enjoyed because they didn’t skimp on the tofu or the seaweed. My friend order the tofu don. He said it was pretty bad. I departed feeling disappointed and unsatisfied. I know good Japanese food, and this isn’t it.

Now if you want to hear about Shogun Sushi Restaurants Santa Cruz

This is my favorite Japanese restaurant when I’m in the mood for home-style cooking. Personal faves: broiled fish cheek, tofu, and tuna. As others have said about this Santa Cruz sushi restaurant, check out the menu pronto (daily specials are a real bargain and offer a lot of variety) and be ready to give your order to the wait staff asap; if they have to go away and then come back, you might have to wait awhile as they are busy attending to other new arrivals.

Getting seated at this Santa Cruz sushi restaurant is a matter of luck and timing. Sometimes there’s no wait, and the next night the line will be down the block! Food is delicious — best miso — full of seaweed and tofu and soup is served hot, not lukewarm. If you want California roll or sushi, you’ll have to go elsewhere.

You Should Learn to Cook Quinoa!

Monday, November 29th, 2010

Not everyone has tried quinoa and only vegans are familiar with this food. However, it popularity has been increasing because many individuals are well aware of its innumerable benefits. It is not only high in magnesium, calcium and iron but also a good source of complete protein. Another thing that sets quinoa apart from other plant based foods is being complete with nine amino acids. This is one of the reasons why this is popular with vegetarians. Those who want to shed some extra pounds also prefer quinoa because this food both regulates blood sugar levels and it also has complex carbohydrate content.

If you want to know how to cook quinoa, reading this article will surely provide you an idea how this delicious and healthy food is prepared. What I will discuss are the cooking directions so you can cook quinoa perfectly. Before cooking quinoa, you have to make sure that it is rinsed well so it will not leave a bitter after taste. Boxed quinoa is pre-rinsed and you will know if yours is as it is indicated on the box. If the box does not indicate that it has been pre-rinsed, you have to take the initiative of rinsing quinoa. This is an important step because the quinoa is covered with saponin which is a bitter substance. Your taste buds will surely not be pleased with the soap-like taste of this substance. All you need to do to rinse quinoa is placing it under a stream of water using a strainer. The water will start to run clear for approximately five minutes.

Then cook quinoa with juice or broth and turn the heat to a high setting. In cooking quinoa, you have to see to it that the amount of the liquid you pour is twice the amount of quinoa you are going to cook. Let it boil for a few minutes and adjust the heat to medium low. Cover and let it simmer for 15 minutes. Remove the cooked quinoa from the heat and cover it for another 15 minutes.

Cooked quinoa can be added in any dish you like. It can be paired with soups, salads and stir fry recipes.

Keep an Endless Supply of Soda Water with a Soda Siphon

Thursday, November 18th, 2010

Carbonated drinks have been so popular with the majority of the human race for many years. The business of selling soda has grown into a multimillion industry around the world. It is not surprising that somebody will develop a gadget like the soda siphon and soda chargers that can easily turn tap water into soda water. It is interesting to note that what started, as a medicinal drink have become a favorite drink to ease the thirst. The craving for that bubbly effect has made them best sellers in restaurants and even at home. There are different variations that are available now in the market today. Some are mixed with fruit juices, some were infused with liquor, and there are those that are a combination of many ingredients. These variations offer different flavors but the resulting effect is the same. People love to drink this bubbly liquid and this can be an expensive drinking habit if you do not know how to make them yourself.

Today, you only need a soda siphon along with CO2 cartridges or chargers to have your own soda water. However, if you are new to this thing, do not make the mistake of interchanging the cartridges that give out CO2 with those cream chargers used with a cream whipper. These chargers may look quite similar but the gases inside them are very different. You need to get the ones with carbon dioxide to charge up the water while the cream dispenser needs nitro oxide to whip the cream. It may sound too scientific for you but you do not need to be a rocket scientist to know how to operate the gadgets. It is so simple that it would only take you a couple of minutes to do it. With this easy-to-use gadget, you can have an endless supply of soda water instead of buying plenty of bottled ones. Avoid the plastic bottles by making your own anytime you want.

How to Chill Wine in a Metal Wine Chiller

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

You can chill wine in less than 20 minutes with a wine chiller. This is a great thing to have on hand when you have a lot of unexpected company arrive. A metal wine chiller does not require electricity, so it is great to take with you for outdoor occasions. You will need to have ice and rock salt on hand to chill the wine properly.

You will want to fill the metal wine chiller about halfway with ice. Once you have the ice in there add about a cup and a half of cold water, as well as a half of cup of rock salt. Swish it around until you have dissolved all of the rock salt. Place your bottle of wine into the metal wine chiller slowly, to make sure you don’t spill anything. After about 20 minutes, you will have a perfectly chilled bottle of wine. So, check out a wine chiller now.

Age Verification Calculators to Minimize Errors

Sunday, October 31st, 2010

Anyone would agree that the youth will always want to experience what adults enjoy, and that the teenagers will always want to bust into the lifestyles of the grown ups. However, there is a reason why certain places or products are prohibited to minors, because being able to handle these products or places would need a certain level of maturity. Unfortunately, most of the people who are tasked in the checking and policing are not very good in mathematics and computations, giving way to minors being able to squeak into prohibited territory. That said, the concept of having an age verification device has come to fruition, and its function is very basic. These devices look a lot like calculators, guaranteeing it to be very easy to use even for those who lack knowledge in gadgets and electronic devices. Now, minors would have a tougher time crossing boundaries, and they now have to wait until they are 18.

Filet Mignon for the Perfect Dinner Party

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

Not too many cuts of meat surpass the flavor and quality of a tender filet mignon. Here are some tips for serving this mild, tender cut at your next dinner party or gathering.

  • Start with USDA Prime or Top of Choice cuts of filet mignon
  • Filet Mignon can be served grilled, broiled, or pan fried and finished in the oven.
  • It should not be served any more well done than medium
  • It can be wrapped in bacon to infuse a bolder flavor into the meat
  • It should sit for 5-10 minutes after cooking to retain the juices

Furthermore, if it is a thick cut, you’ll want the meat cut to come to room temperature prior to cooking so that the meat can cook evenly throughout.

Another recommendation is that the meat be handled as little as possible during the cooking process and then only with tongs – not with a fork or other sharp utiensil – this will allow the juices to escape and the meat to become dried out.

Once the filet mignon is cooked (a 1″ thick piece should be cooked approximately 5 minutes per side on a hot grill, as a point of reference), allow it to sit for at least 5 minutes – this will draw the juices back to the center of the cut and it will be much more moist than if you cut into it immediately.

Serve your filet mignon with a spicy horseradish sauce, sauteed mushrooms, or a high quality steak sauce, or just season with salt and pepper. Your guests will rave at the simple elegance of the meal.

Today Was the Best Day

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

It was a pretty good day for me today and I need to explain why. But first, let me tell you how I started out my day. Well, to let you know, I woke up this morning and did a little exercising to boost up my energy for the day. Every morning, I try to run a mile on the treadmill before I go to work. This really helps me get through the day. Afterwards, I brewed a cup of gourmet coffee. It was my last pack of gourmet coffee beans so I had to go buy gourmet coffee online in order to make sure I had coffee for the next few weeks. But let me get to the very good news. You see, I had the best day ever when it came to my internet business. Today, I have received more clients than I usually do in an entire week with my business. So this is outstanding news!
