We really should have had it worked on last year, but we figured we could put it off a bit longer. There is no escaping it now though. It has to be fixed before the next winter storms start up. I’ve contacted a heating contractor to come take a look at it. I figure they don’t have too many jobs to do right now. People usually wait until the fall to start looking at their heaters again. He said he should be out tomorrow which is a lot sooner than I thought it would be.

Friday, April 29th, 2011I love this new house, but to say it needs new floors in all three bathrooms is an understatement. One has those tiny black and white tiles that look like they came from the 20s. They have stains, cracks, and an unbelievable amount of grout between each tiny piece. Way too much trouble to keep clean! The other two bathrooms have ugly solid sheets of linoleum. So now that I’ve been living here for a while, I decided it’s high time I did something about it. I love the look of porcelain tiles and I’m going to do the floors and shower walls of all three bathrooms with it. A friend of mine told me I’d better make sure to use rectified porcelain tile because it would be much easier to install. He told me that it’s also called dimensionally stable tile because it’s made with a process that insures all the pieces are uniform sizes. I’m not taking any chances that it will come out crooked after all the work and expense, so I’m going to follow his advice for sure.

And I had been using my tattered old comforter and duvet set this whole time. I had this bed set for almost five years now. It’s the only one I have. It was the first bedding set that I ever bought. It was love at first sight. And I was too broke to ever replace it all these years.
Now that I finally have some extra cash and my old set is falling to pieces, I think the time to buy a new set is absolutely perfect. And I had discovered a store that offered discount duvet cover promotions in two weeks so I should take advantage or it, right?
I’m researching my options over the internet now. I think I’m leaning more towards suede. It’s a little non-traditional but I just love the feel of it. If I don’t find good suede ones I think I’ll get the satin comforter instead.
