Advantages of the Chicken Coop in Chicken Farming

Friday, March 11th, 2011

Chicken farming has become a household occupation for many countryside homes and is being seen as a huge profit for marginal investors, since chicken coop plans have also become highly accessible, it’s no wonder. Most of them work with simple chicken coops in the starting and then go to the higher level s by increasing their fold a hundred times the original coop.

By adapting to all the safety features, such as fencing, making provision for food and water, taking care of the ventilation aspects would yield better results. Some experienced people invest in buying bulk number from wholesale chicken coops.

It would save money but needs expertise in handling a bigger stock of chicken. Their needs should be met, and the chickens should be cared for, otherwise, it could lead to a heavy loss. Most of the big chicken coop designs come with innovative design features and can be customized as desired. With the advent of chicken farming, chicken coop ideas are being searched on the web to raise chickens in a healthy environment.

Designating Responsibilty when You Get a New Puppy

Sunday, February 27th, 2011

If you have kids, I encourage you to have a short meeting before the puppy arrives. Everyone should get involved in care and training. Make a schedule like the one above, writing in the names for who does what. Have a pen handy so everyone can check off when their assignment was completed. If everyone takes part, your puppy will quickly get accustomed to all her new pack members. Providing care raises your pack status!

Notice that many blocks of time suggested either keeping your puppy on her teaching lead or isolating her. Try to make isolation the exception rather than the rule. Your puppy is a social critter, and too much isolation creates what we call “hyper isolation anxiety.” She’s so overwhelmed to see you, so she acts confused, hyperactive, and very crazy when greeted. A well-socialized puppy is a happy puppy! And a happy, relaxed puppy is easier to train.

We at puppy training new york strongly recommend to go for this organized approach. Puppy training is a joint effort, get everyone at home involved.

Scratching Pads and Mats for My Cat

Monday, January 10th, 2011

Cats love chewing and scratching. I am worried about our new cat because it can destroy some of our valuables at home. Before the night came, I decided to take a walk and visit the new Cat Pet Store. I have been looking for scratch pads and mats which is suitable for our new cat. I am glad that there are fun design scratching pads and mats. I bought some of these to satisfy the instinct of the cat which is scratching. Before going home, I check other cat supplies which can be useful at home. There are trees, mats, and pads with toys in them to keep the cat entertained. I don’t think I would need these items. I walked home and placed the new mats at the corner of our house. The cat stayed there and immediately learned the basics. I do not have to worry in training the cat. Thanks to these newly designed scratching pads and mats.

My Parrot Thinks My Ear Is A Chew Toy

Friday, July 9th, 2010

I have a rather quirky parrot named Kiwi. She is a Green Cheek Conure who is full of energy and very loud. Kiwi is very particular about many things. She has to sleep in the same position, only likes to eat from specific dishes, and will only bathe in a running shower.

There is one thing I would rather Kiwi not do though. She loves my shoulder and in return for me giving her head scritches, she will preen my hair as if I were a bird. If I don’t pay attention to he,r she will try and tug on my ear like it is a parrots toy! While it sounds funny and maybe cute, it really hurts.

I have tried many things to stop this behavior but she insist on sneaking a nip of my ear. I really hate to banish her from my shoulder and I have considered trying discrete ear muffs but somehow I think it will make her more determined to bite off my ear.

A Favorite Toy For My Parrot

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

I spoil my parrot regularly with new parrot toys. One of her favorite new items to play with are the parrot climbing nets. These nets are great for exercise and enrichment. Some of the nets are available in palm fiber, sisal, or even cotton rope. Safe for my pet bird, I do not have to worry about entrapment or getting entangled since these nets are made specifically for parrots.

Recently, I watched my conure Kiwi, play and climb around on her parrot climbing net for hours. She was having so much fun clowning around. Whether she was hanging upside down, hopping, jumping, or just resting, she enjoyed every minute on her new toy.

The next time you buy a toy for your pet bird or parrot, try a climbing net. Many of these can be purchased online at specialty bird and parrot shops. I guarantee that the time spent on the net will provide hours of enjoyment.
